I’m not exactly sure on what I exactly tried out before your reply but I tried fixing this problem using some of the queries on the Microsoft Office help web page and it didn’t fix the problem. What I can remember though is that before this flickering problem had occurred, I couldn’t actually open Microsoft Word for some time. After a few months, suddenly I was able to open it for some reason and then the flickering occurred. Could this have been related to the flickering problem?
I’ve had Office now for several months. I also have the “screen flash” problem: it is as if all the text is highlighted using the “marker” in the dashboard with a light brown highlighter marker. This is triggered by typing or by moving the cursor with the up or down arrows and by other actions.
This only happens when I use Dragon I have version 12 ; and even when I don’t dictate into Word which I would like to do but even when I use the Dragon dictation box. I have a very similar problem. It only happens in Word together with Windows A wgite stripe appears below and on the right more or less where the action stripe is.
The text is moving sometimes in zig-zag and the right part of the screen sometimes starts flickering. I asked a similar question in another forum, and as answer I received that I should repair the Office. I did it and hoped it stoped, but the problem coes back.
I have also sometimes problems with Excel It starts flikering and I have to wait. Do you still see this happening if you run Word in Safe mode for troubleshooting purposes only? The problem has never been fixed. The troubleshooting does not work. Any updates the past two years have never worked. I tried rienstalling windows two times in two years The MSOffice folks have have had me go through the same troubleshooting steps i did on my own.
Finally they say there is nothing they can do Well guess what – i am putting together a complaint to my states attorneys consumer affairs office about the issue. In the mean time i have refused to download office again. If your having the same issue stay away from office I am currently redownloading Office to see if that helps. Consider the Desktop and the ability to run regular Windows software as a bonus. See this tablet as a laptop, and you’ll be disappointed due to its small screen – Enter BIOS mode by turning the tablet off.
Works the same way as the Surface Pro 3 – The Windows Store version of Internet Explorer IE has Adobe Flash built in. You can also download Flash and install it for use with your browser of choice: IE, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, etc. However, IE will give you the best performance since Microsoft optimized IE for Windows 8 tablets NOTES – The installed Windows OS is bit – Since this tablet can run the full Windows OS, I surmise you could turn this into a full-fledged, basic server to use at home.

Contacted HP who told me that T-mobile knows how to activate the tablet, just tel them it’s an invalid IMEI issue.
Back to T-mobile: Two different customer reps insisted I had to set up an account for my “phone. Contacted HP again, HP rep said I did not have to open an account, just get the SIM activated. Back to T-mobile: I finally got a T-mobile rep that understood I had a tablet to activate, was familiar with the free data offer and explained I needed to open a pre-paid account that would be loaded with the free data every month, just tell the pre-paid rep that I was activating for the free data.
I get disconnected during the transfer. Call T-mobile AGAIN, go through phone tree hell for the millionth time, get to the pre-paid rep. I give her the SIM , then she asks for the IMEI number. She tells me it’s not a valid number, so I am not eligible for the free data.
IF you get this far, insist on a supervisor who can validate your IMEI and set up the pre-paid account. I’m assuming you have not murdered anyone by this point, because I sure felt like it! After several hours of Attempting to activate the “free” mobile account, it finally got done. As far as I’m concerned the data package was not free, as I spent about four hours trying to activate it.
My morale – contact T-mobile for activation, you want to open a pre-paid account with them, and insist on a supervisor to activate your IMEI to get the free data. It is a T-mobile activation, don’t let them steer you back to HP.
Credit Card sized card that says T-mobile has your SIM on the bottom in a red outlined box. IMEI is on the outside of the box the Tablet comes in. You need both of these numbers to get this done.
