Slasher game – DmC: Devil May Cry – has created an entire branch and direction of games in the new industry. The protagonist lives in Limbo City, in a small van to which he has become attached due to lack of funds.
He is visited by a girl who has demonic powers, and she warns Dante – the protagonist – that he is about to change his life and danger. After a moment the protagonist finds himself in a demonic world, where he is hunted. After we kill the first demon, he tells us that Dante has been found, and now he can’t escape. The next twenty-four hours are spent as Cat leads Dante to Virgil, the protagonist’s twin brother. Thoth tells us that their parents are a demon and an angel, whose union could not exist on the planet.
The main goal of the two brothers and the demonic girl is not to break the barrier that they act, remaining the only niphilim in the world. An organization called “The Order” offers to join Dante as he hears the story of his father, who erased the children’s memories and placed them among ordinary people so that they could exist with dignity and not be found by demons. Eventually the protagonist decides to avenge his father and joins the Order.
Each new location is presented as a platformer – the exits from the room territory are closed, and the hero does not go any further until he kills all the demons. The game has elaborate bosses, and their severity increases each time Dante encounters them alternately several times. After each boss, a new weapon is dropped – it can be blades, a sword, or the semblance of a blade, but you can always use demon whips to attack or move. Each boss has his own “weaknesses” that the boss must be taken out on.
